A mouth-watering selection of 12 delicious vegan rhubarb recipes. If you think you don't like it, haven't cooked with it before or think it looks a bit like something from outer space then this post is for you. I'm sure that you'll find a vegan rhubarb recipe here to tempt you.

I have always loved rhubarb. The strangely fruit-like vegetable (yes, rhubarb is a vegetable) features strongly in my childhood memories. Crumbles, compotes and pies - my dad grew a lot of the stuff in his vegetable patch and with a greengrocer grandad as well we had rhubarb coming out of our ears some years! Or at least that's what it felt like.
Some people find the taste of rhubarb overly tart and add a lot of sugar to it. This really comes down to your personal taste. I like the natural tartness and don't tend to add a lot of sugar to mine.
I realised how much I love rhubarb when I saw how many rhubarb recipes there are on my kid food blog, Sneaky Veg.
I've included some of them here for you alongside other vegan rhubarb recipes from my blogger friends.

Looking at these recipes really makes me want some rhubarb. It's such a delicious and unique flavour. Thank you for including my crumble and for pointing out that not all port is vegan, I didn't know that π x

I adore rhubarb too, though I wasn't too keen as a child. What a lovely collection. I make rhubarb 'kirsch' with vodka, but gin sounds even better π Those rhubarb and custard scones are a fab idea too. Thanks for including my chutney.

I would love to see some baked goods which ONLY use rhubarb (as opposed to rhubarb and anothe fruit combined). I'm up to my eyeballs in rhubarb and none of the other fruit are even close to harvesting. Thanks!
