Why eat seasonal veg?

Eating vegetables that are in season is better for you and better for the environment.

Good for the environment

Seasonal vegetables are more likely to have been grown closer to home. They're less likely to have been transported for miles and so will have had less of an impact on the environment.

Good for you

If you choose to eat vegetables that are in season they're likely to be fresher, which means they'll have more of their nutrients.

Making a choice to eat seasonally can also mean that you eat more of a variety of vegetables, rather than just reverting to your favourites.
