Harissa hummus

Harissa hummus is so good. It’s everyone’s favourite chickpea dip with a spicy kick. Suitable for vegans.

Ingredients

  • 400 g tin of chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon harissa paste plus extra to serve
  • Sea salt to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons cold water if needed
  • extra olive oil and harissa paste to serve

Instructions

  • Place a drained tin of chickpeas into a good processor with the juice of a lemon, a crushed garlic clove, 2 tablespoons tahini, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon harissa paste and a pinch of sea salt.
  • Process until smooth, gradually adding 1-2 tablespoons cold water until you have the consistency you prefer.
  • Taste and add extra salt if needed.
  • Serve with extra olive oil and harissa paste.
