Lightly grease a bundt tin or alternative cake tin eg a 900g loaf tin or 20cm round cake tin. If using a loaf tin or round tin line with baking paper.
Sift the flour, baking powder and spices together in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
In a separate bowl mix the sunflower oil (or melted dairy free spread) and sugar together.
Bake for 25-30 mins in a bundt tin or up to 40 minutes in a larger tin until the cake is firm to the touch and a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
If you want to make this cake gluten free substitute the flour for 225g gluten free self raising flour and only use 1 tsp baking powder. You will also need to add 1/2 tsp xanthan gum to the flour.
