Christmas vegetable side dishes

selection of christmas vegetable side dishes - parsnips, cabbage, stuffing balls, gravy and potatoes

No festive table is complete without a bountiful selection of Christmas vegetable side dishes. I have a few favourites - red cabbage and roasted parsnips - to name but a few. What are yours? The following Christmas veg dishes are all suitable for vegans.

Can you imagine Christmas dinner without the sides?

For me, the vegetable side dishes are just as important as the centrepiece. Perfectly crispy roast potatoes, deliciously sweet parsnips, homemade gravy, spiced red cabbage - these are just some of my favourites.

Of course the centrepiece of the meal is important too. For our vegan Christmas meal we usually have either a wellington or a nut roast like this chestnut and squash roast or perhaps my parsnip and cashew nut roast.

Christmas vegetable side dishes

Below you'll find my festive veggie side dish recipes, including roast potato recipes, vegetables, gravy and stuffing. NB: a few of these recipes are on my other website, Sneaky Veg.

Roast potato recipes

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without perfectly crispy roast potatoes. I love to add fresh herbs to my roast potatoes - rosemary or sage are both good options. I keep my roasties vegan friendly by using sunflower oil to cook them.
